Iris Folding
Iris folding is a paper folding technique, when finished,  resembles an
iris of a camera or an "eye".  Traditionally, origami paper is used for
the main design and holographic paper is used to fill in the center of
the design.  Backs of patterned envelopes are also used for this craft
as well as ribbon, wrapping paper, napkins, fabric and tissue paper.
Almost anything that is thin and flat can be used to create these
wonderful works of art.  More information can be found
here.  There
you can find complete instructions and patterns.

In 2005, I made family members note cards. The following pictures
are my first attempts at Iris Folding.
