One Stroke Painting
A few years back, I decided to really try and learn One Stroke Painting by going to some classes held at our local craft store. I had been trying to learn for years, but just couldn't sit down long enough to really teach myself. Though I really have a long way to go, I am happy with what I have done so far.
This piece was made during my first class. It's pretty tricky getting the shading right when you are first starting out. But with practice it gets easier each day, but you must practice.
During my second class, I started painting a birdhouse using the same flowers as above, but have since painted over it. I ended up mosaicking over that project.

During my third class we were told to paint on canvas, which scared me. After all, only artists paint on canvas. The subject was to be sunflowers and I think it's pretty good. I still need to work on my placement and symmetry. Click here for a picture of this framed.
I decided to paint some shaker boxes that were to hold the note cards I made using the Iris Folding Technique. I was not happy with
my shading, and I'm not quite sure what to do about the paint from the bottom image showing through to the top image. I think if the paint on the bottom had not dried first, that wouldn't be a problem, but since I was making these in sort of an assembly line fashion, the first layer dried before I could paint the second layer and so on.
