Shed Project
A couple of years after we moved into our home, Gary and I had a shed built on the southeast corner of our one-acre lot. It was out of the way, and a good place to store all the lawn and garden equipment. But as I began to use it, I thought, "What a shame it's not prettier or more connected with the rest of the yard". I painted it to compliment the house, but it needed more. But I had no idea what to do with it, and since the backyard was not developed anyway, what difference did it make, right? Gary added the ramp on the side door that first year, but that was all we did (besides painting it).
Gary added a deck to the front side of the shed the next year, but it would remain plain and unappealing until the next year when we decided to dress up the deck with some chair planters.
Over the years we added a patio on the side and have collected odds and ends during our travels. My favorite items are the driftwood furniture you see in the photo below.
