Uses for Baking Soda

  • Relieve itch of bug bites by rubbing on a paste of baking soda and water.
  • Relieve the burn of a jelly fish sting by sprinkling baking soda on the wound.
  • Add a teaspoon of baking soda to water in a vase to keep cut flowers fresher longer.
  • Scatter among plants to deter rabbits.
  • Sprinkle around tomato plants to produce sweeter fruits.

  • Wash fruits and vegetables with a mixture of baking soda and water.
  • Add 1 cup to the washing machine to help the detergent work better
  • Deodorize just about anything with it.
  • Clean cast iron and stainless steel pans with a paste of baking soda and water.
  • Mix a little baking soda in with your favorite shampoo to remove styling product residue.
